I will fight and win to get the Billy Bishop Airport expansion stopped. I have stood up to Doug Ford before and won. Jets landing every 2.5 minutes will pollute the air over our community and make our community noisier.
I will make snow removal AODA compliant so that everyone in the community will be able to move around safely. This means that snow removal will happen fast and snow will be removed. The mobility needs of the most vulnerable members of our community will be serviced and will also benefit the entire community.
I will make it easier and faster to move around our community by increasing the frequency of buses and streetcars from our subway stations. I will make sure that buses and meet at intersections at the same time to make travelling in our community faster and safer.
We need a new school, community centre and community services at Main and Danforth. With more that 7000 new residential units opening in the coming yeas we are not ready for the 10,000+ people that will soon call Main and Danforth home.
The shelter system is broken, and encampments are on the rise. I will invest in supportive housing in our community to eliminate homelessness and reduce the cost of serving the needs of the homeless. This can be done with compassion and respect for people.
I will fight to make every tax dollar count. I will tirelessly work to make sure taxpayers get value for their money and that city services work.
I will stand up to developers and challenge them to respect the nature of our community. Developers will be expected to invest in our community, and their plans will need to include elements that are beneficial to the broader community such as green space, community space etc. As a school board trustee, I have stood up to developers on multiple occasions and won concessions and investments in the community.
I will expand childcare availability. I have already created hundreds of childcare spots as a school board trustee. I know how to get it done and will do it again.
I will make our community feel connected and equitable for all.
I will be a councillor that is present in our community and will answer your calls and emails in a timely and respectful manner.
